Alexandre Dumas, vlastním jménem Thomas Alexandre Davy de La Pailleterie byl čelní francouzský prozaik a dramatik v období romantismu. Proslavil se především historickými a dobrodružnými romány. Mnoho jeho děl bylo několikrát zfilmováno.
