„They say we offer simple answers to complex problems. Well, perhaps there is a simple answer — not an easy answer — but simple.“

— Ronald Reagan, In some published transcripts or quotations of this speech a variant of this statement appears immediately before the quote by Churchill below, but was not said during Reagan's televised address on (27 October 1964). Though he did make variations of the speech elsewhere it is unclear exactly when and where he may have said used these precise words:

„[Speaking of computers] But they are useless. They can only give you answers.“

— Pablo Picasso Spanish painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, and stage designer 1881 - 1973
As discussed in [http://quoteinvestigator.com/2011/11/05/computers-useless/#more-2932 this entry from Quote Investigator], the origin seems to be the article "Pablo Picasso: A Composite Interview" by William Fifield which appeared in The Paris Review 32, Summer-Fall 1964, and collected a number of interviews Fifield had done with Picasso. Common later variant: "Computers are useless. They can only give you answers." This variant seems to have arisen in the 1980s, the earliest known appearance in a book is Herman Feshbach, "Reflections on the Microprocessor Revolution: A Physicist's Viewpoint", in Man and Technology (1983), ed. Bruce M. Adkins, where the attribution is described as "rumoured".[http://books.google.com/books?id=9EohAQAAIAAJ&q=Picasso]<!--

„Here is my secret. It is very simple. It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; What is essential is invisible to the eye.“

— Antoine de Saint-Exupéry French writer and aviator 1900 - 1944
Variant translations: Here is my secret. It is very simple: one sees well only with the heart. The essential is invisible to the eyes. The essential things in life are seen not with the eyes, but with the heart.
