Annie Besantová byla britská filosofka, nástupnice ve vedení teosofické školy po Heleně Petrovně Blavatské, feministka a spisovatelka.

Značnou část života strávila v Indii, podporovala nezávislost Indie a stala se členkou Indického národního kongresu. Rovněž v Indii se podílela na „objevení“ a výchově Džiddú Krišnamúrtiho. Wikipedia
