Sufjan Stevens je americký zpěvák a multiinstrumentalista. Do širšího povědomí vstoupil poprvé s albem A Sun Came , které bylo vydáno u vydavatelství Asthmatic Kitty, jež spoluzaložil se svým nevlastním otcem. Pravděpodobně nejvíc se proslavil svým albem Illinois , to se dostalo na první místo v hitparádě časopisu Billboard, a singlem „Chicago“.
Stevens vydal různorodá alba, od elektronického Enjoy Your Rabbit a lo-fi folkové Seven Swans až k symfonické Illinois anebo Songs for Christmas s vánoční tematikou. Stevens uplatňuje rozmanitou škálu hudebních nástrojů, přičemž často si mnohé z nich sám nahrává, a v hudbě mnohdy střídá různé hudební takty. Třebaže opakovaně konstatoval svůj záměr oddělit víru z jeho tvorby, považuje se za křesťana a vychází volně z Bible a křesťanské tradice.
