Patrick James Rothfuss je americký spisovatel fantasy a přednášející na vysoké škole. Je autorem předpokládané trilogie Kronika Královraha, která byla odmítnuta několika nakladatelstvími před tím, než první knihu série, Jméno větru, vydala v roce 2007 společnost DAW/Penguin.
