Teng Siao-pching citáty

Teng Siao-pching byl čínský komunistický politik a reformátor. I když nezastával formálně úřad prezidenta, byl faktickým vůdcem Čínské lidové republiky od konce 70. až do počátku 90. let 20. století.

Prosazoval strategii „socialistické tržní ekonomiky“ a otevřel Čínu světovému trhu. Převzal zemi zpustošenou kulturní revolucí a dalšími maoistickými politickými experimenty a pomohl ji přeměnit v jednu z nejrychleji rostoucích ekonomik světa. Na druhou stranu byl spoluodpovědný za pokračující potlačování lidských práv, například za brutální potlačení pokojných protestů studentů v roce 1989 a tzv. politiku jednoho dítěte. Wikipedia

“To get rich is glorious!”

Deng Xiaoping

Deng is commonly quoted with this phrase in western media but there is no proof that he actually said it
However, this phrase in Chinese is more accurately translated as ""wealth is glorious,"" where wealth can have a very general meaning, including knowledge, personal relationships, family: anything of value. Understood this way, the quote is not as directly controversial as a ideological/political statement, and so it is not hard to believe that he really did say this.

Source: http://pqasb.pqarchiver.com/latimes/access/689588251.html?dids=689588251:689588251&FMT=ABS
Misattributed or apocryphal
